Drawing from subjects such as post-humanism and cyborgs, the work “shape of forearm to come” rethinks these concepts with a sense of irony. Kulaksızoğlu imagines a future and a future of the body that is shiny and metallic akin to a cyborg. Yet, a body that sheds its organic parts to become more enhanced retains its "unwanted" (or perhaps shameful) human hair. Here, Kulaksızoğlu depicts this concept by crafting a steel forearm model based on his own body measurements, a forearm which is reduced to its simple-abstract form. In contrast to the fully calculated, inorganic geometrical design of the steel, pubic hair oozes from organized grid holes: a juxtaposition of the predictability, perfection, and calculation of sleek design of the future with the unpredictability, organic nature, and ever-changing variance of sexuality within the human body.
